Unhappy Key Fob issue

I have been having issues unlocking the jeep with the fob, it locks every time i push the button but takes several tries to unlock it, does anyone know what could cause this?

Somebody mentioned using 2 2016 cells instead of a single 2032, with excellent results, might be worth a try.

Have you tried holding the desired button for a couple of seconds as this seems to be more reliable method on old remote controls.

It could also be the contacts in the remote itself on the unlock side. If it’s old, maybe wear and tear. Possible it’s the unlock side that for some reason wears quicker than the lock button if it’s happening with both remotes. Just thinking out aloud, but also maybe the door actuator - operating fine to lock, but not unlock? Sticking?

Mine does it occasionally. I read in a manual somewhere that the rolling code can lose sync and repeatedly pressing the unlock button re-establishes the sync. I wish I could recall where i read that.
