as i do a lot of dirt driving i can tell you for cirtain that i always get dust inside with the soft top but not with the hard top i think it is to do with the presure as the hard top will get a better seal
but i swap tops a bit and that is what i have found

Thanks for the tips I put my hard top on and no more dust. Have been running the rag top for a while, forgot how nice it is to have something solid over your head. Im sure Ill miss being able to take it off so quickly when it cools down a bit.

Default Red Dust in engine bay..

So how do you guys clean your engine bays?.... After Harvey i had heaps of red dust in the engine bay...someone told me its ok to hose down your engine if you cover the electrics in the motor with plastic bags.... I ended up just going through it with a wet shammy...got most of it off...but want to know if its safe to hose off a turbo deisel motor..( with a mist spray hose extension)..

mate - with a crd, dont waste your time. Hi pressure while the engine is cool and you will have no worries. At worse, carry a can of crc 'just in case' and dry off with a good spray to disperse the water, but you wont need to (more than likely) with the crd. Petrol is suseptible to water shorting the motor out but diesel are far less likely as long as you dont direct water into the intake or fuse boxes you should be fine (this is waht I have dont a few times on mine already without a hassle
