Default Help needed with air conditioning

This past weekend was the first time I've tried to really use my air con in my 2009 CRD JK. It works really well when slowing down but under acceleration or just driving along it is like it is off and the fan is just blowing hot air. So if I'm driving down the highway there is nothing but hot air coming out of the vents. If I take my foot off the accelerator and coast all of a sudden there is icy cold air coming in. A friend suggested that there is a heat sensor for the motor that if the motor is getting hot the CPU shuts off the air con unit. (he has such a thing on his Patrol) any ideas?

I use my air conditioning sparingly, a couple of minutes to cool the interior down and that's enough for the fan and vent to maintain a suitable temperature.

I have not experienced any change in air conditioning performance whether the engine is under load or not.

It sounds like you have a problem that needs investigation by a Jeep mechanic.

Agreed, get it checked out. Mine works fine, had it on quite a bit the last few weeks and whilst I do notice a change under flat out acceleration, but apart from that it runs perfect.

Can you easily reproduce the problem? if so take to the dealer, take them for a drive and show them, dont just tell them the issue, make sure they see it. This way there is no To Hard basket. This way it should be resolved quickly

I have noticed that AC is radically more effective when air circulation is on. Makes much bigger difference than in other cars.
