Default Wa jeep safari 2013

31/08/13 This event is now closed no further registrations will be accepted!

WA JEEP SAFARI 2013 - This is a thought that has been talked about within the WA Jeep community but no one has tried to do something about it so I am putting this forward as an expression of interest and based on the interest and feedback we will make a decision on whether to proceed with organizing this event.

What is a Jeep Safari? It's getting the Jeep community together for a family friendly weekend that involves a variety of events with different degrees of difficult suited to all types of jeeps and is set to test the capabilities of you and your Jeep. While there is a scoring system and always a bit of a friendly banter amongst the drivers on the day it's not a competition but an event for us all to have some fun in a safe environment with some small prizes at the end of the weekend. If there is enough interest in some harder challenges then this can be accommodated to as well.

This is not a club event and it will be open to all Jeep owners. Due to the nature of organising an event like this we will be asking for people to assist with the event by volunteering their time and assisting over the weekend with things such as marshalling and recoveries etc.

Date:
September long weekend, is a good time to be at Murchison as it's not too hot and not too wet. The dates we are: start the event in the morning of 28th Sep that's a Saturday and finish it on the 29th Sunday night (presentation and wind down) and Monday the 30th is the Public Holiday so people can depart or kick back longer if they wish. We would suggest taking the Friday off work to all so you get there and setup on Friday.

Location: MOA, (Murchison Offroad & Adventure) 600km north of Perth (MOA Website)we feel this would be a great location with great scenery, lots of room for all of us, great mapped out tracks, large shearers shed converted to a Grill & Bar with a great menu, the owners are willing to work with us to insure a great safe event. We would be holding a presentation night at the Grill & Bar which would include a group meal. As this is a private property we are governed by the MOA rules and not shire rules and that is a big plus when driving around in a large convoy. Showers and toilets on site.

i'm keen, however add much add I would like to it is unlikely that I will be able to volunteer much time with heavy uni workloads/stress loads. I can ask at work (Bcf) if they could donate one or two of the small prises you speak of

I have the whole second half of the year off and a drive out west could be a bit of fun. I will add it to my maybe list of things to do.

I would love to volunteer but the distance and my whacky program means i won't be able to guarantee anything.
