BTW sorry for your topic getting hijacked Yumpet. Hopefully youve gotten some decent info which ever way you go. And best of luck. I'l keep my nose out because to use one of my favourite quotes 'arguing on the internet is like running in the special Olympics. You might win but your still retarded'.

Bingo

Macs,Windows they're all PC's..You can put together the most awesome computer but its nothing without the software to run it...

Both have their place and pro's and cons, and force each other to innovate and evolve.

Oh and keeping the thread on track Unless you really need mobile computing stick with a desktop.

Building your own pc is the go,it really is simple these days and you can put together a killer setup for way less than purchasing pre-built.

i love watching mac fanboys defend their precious brand lol at the end of the day your paying for Mac the brand and there is A LOT of branding there. While mac's may suit some people if you are after a comp that can run pretty beefy programs pc's are a good choice, especially if price is taken into the equation which it always is.

Hey yumpet, if you are in Melbourne, I can help you buy parts and build it.
A 1000 bucks and you will be laughing. Plus you get exactly what you want. For example you want a smaller HDD and a better gfx card.No worries

If you wanna buy a Vaio, i can get you one at a good discount from the Sony showroom in Melbourne. You,ll love it. Afterall you gotta use that stimulus package somehow.
