Default Cheap quad bikes

Thinking of getting my son (6) and daughter (7) a quad bike. With the Suzuki etc ones sitting around $1500 and up, I've been quietly wondering how bad the cheap ones ($399 or so) really are?

I'm assuming they are Chinese or Russian and I know 'You get what you pay for' .....

The last thread on this topic headed off into crash statistics and rugby injuries so even if your girlfriend's uncle's neighbour had one and you know that it died after a week, post about it !

Thanks
Adam

Metal is very soft and light on the brackets. Give my Dad a call on 02 49661577 as he runs a bike shop that sells them in NSW. Speak to Dick.

my mates son has had one for about 2.5 years with no major issues, i think it has gone through plastics and brake leavers but that was about it,

parts are hard to get for it from what im told, but not imposibale if your prepaired to do some hunting,

Yeah Dicko is the man, had a long rave with him about these some months back, clutch was an issue with the Chinese ones but not difficult to mod and fix, small kid on a small bike is likely to out grow it before if breaks.
