Default Trailhawk Tow Bar

Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help here. Im picking up the New Trailhawk next week and want to put a Tow Bar on it - all the pics of the Tow bar for the trailhawk show the hitch receiver sitting high in the bumber within a panel. Im concerend tho as the dealer cant be sure this is where the Aussie ones will go. I dont want it sitting low - the departure angle is ok but with a tow hitch it will be hopeless.

Any one know for sure that the Mopar Tow bar sits high like in all the photos??

Cheers

Andy

Hey Andy, the ones you see mounted high in the bumper is only on the US models...here's a pic (sorry not great one) of where it mounts on the Aus version

Thanks mate
Hmmm that's not what I'm looking for. Really wanted it higher up. Wonder why they did this. I have a Mitsu challenger and the oem bar sits below the rear bumper too, really stuffs up the departure angles. I got a HR fitted up in the bumper for a perfect fit. I might hold out on the TH to see if we can put the American one on???
Any issue buying one from US and getting it fitted you think?

This will give you an idea of the differences of the two. Both mount at the same point. The international version does look beefier but hangs lower.

Install looks straight forward, order from the US and do it yourself, it'll probably be cheaper anyway

Just double check those tow ratings on the U.S. ones, cause we looked at some aftermarket tow bars & the ratings weren't very high at all

Not a great photo - but this shows how the factory fitted Mopar towbar looks. You can see where it sits compared to the rear tow hook. This was fitted by the dealer prior to delivery.
