Have mine booked in for the tune on 10th of April at Newcastle HPF agent. The only problem is they do not have a 4 wheel dyno?? Will this compromise the tune Matt??
Already have the S49 update and patch running with no problems does the tune overlay this software update OK?

Just going with the tune and intake muffler delete. Do I have to ask to have EGR turned off or is that standard in the tune ?

That is from two dealers, I told the first one that is stupid, they said it is fixed price.
So I rang another, they said the same.
I rang a local auto shop that is really good. They replaced the diff bushes, on the Commander for $300, I supplied parts.
I asked them to check the service schedule, make sure they use compliant oil and filters, both oil and air conditioner.
They got back to me $320.
Um what should I do

Hi Lewy2001,

As per the message, it will be fine, they don't differ much and we do not send out 'My Spec' tune files unless your super keen or we can dyno it and the tune will be more on the conservative side, refer dyno graph of Craigs car on previous pages which was running 19:1 AFR (very safe). We actually do a lot of these cars so were on it so to speak.

EGR is switched off by default unless specified.

Standard boost should be 22-23 psi, unless you have a gauge fitted to the intake I would disregard any scanner reading.

My car has been running high 20's for a long time - over 3 years. You need boost in you're life.

The HPF agent that did mine doesn't have a four wheel dyno and took my vehicle around to another shop with one, and I'm very glad they did. The first round of installing the tune yielded the following results:

Before: 636NM and 135.1KW
After: 724NM and 138.1KW

The torque graph result was irregular. The guys then consulted HPF and reloaded the tune.

The second run yielded these results:

Before: 634NM and 134.5KW
After: 784NM and 152.0KW

This time the graphs were as expected and I'm happy with the results, on the dyno and on the road.

I will add that my vehicle was the first WK2 diesel that they had done and they were very professional about resolving the anomaly of the first run.

The torque figure seems high.
The factory torque figure is 570Nm. Not sure where they got the 634Nm from. How they should work it out is work out the % gain and add that % to 570Nm.

Cheers, Craig

Yeah I noticed the odd figures. But getting up towards 800Nm with the tune seems a bit hard to believe too.
