Grahame, apparently the BFG MT KM2 @ 255/80r17 is the same diameter when measured side by side as the stock Goodyear silent armour 255/75r17. Food for thought?

Rubbing on sway bar is due to increased width of the tyre, the rubbing on full articulation is a mixture of increased height & increased articulation with long travel shocks & sway bar disconnects, I haven't heard it rub the inner guard with the sway bar disconnects still connected

Good point Yom, but I'm after something a little more aggressive in the tread department and there doesn't seem to be any MT in 255/75/17 (I'll be very interested to stand corrected on this). The 255/80 is 845mm dia (33.3") the closest I can see in 17" is either a 285 or a 305, both of which are slightly smaller diameter and come with the rubbing problems that everyone has mentioned. A wider tyre doesn't really interest me, I don't run in sand and I had a good run on 7.50/16s on my troopcarrier for over 10 years. What I'd really like is the tallest tyre possible that will fit on the standard rim and not stick outside the guards.

Default Tires

BGF made a 255/75/17 in a KM1, Jeep shipped them on the Rubicon. A guy in perth had a set for sale recently, but not to sure if other brands are available.

Default Kumho

I have a set of procomp 16 inch rims and I am chasing kumho kl71 285 75 r16 tyres.
Has anyone bought a set on the north side of Brisbane and what was the cost.
Did you retain the pressure sensors.
Cheers .......Shane

you could try redback tyres at clontarf.Speak to Matt he can source mast brands of tyres and does very good deals.I have pro comp rims and tyres and did not worry about the tyre sensors. You just get a light on the dash.I have a superchip programer so i could re program to erase this signal.
