Unhappy Perth - Two Rocks Closure

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has heard news about the closure of the access to the dunes at Two Rocks?

Apparently there are ongoing meetings in relation to the closure and was interested to know if anyone had been along to hear what was being said...

Apparently local surfers have been told it's a permanent closure for development, whilst the official story is "it's too dangerous"

Obviously there are plenty of alternative accesses to the one in Two Rocks itself but if you're caught in there I'd imagine the penalties wouldn't be something to sniff at? Can always head further north to Wilbinga or Guilderton but I've always liked Two Rocks and it was where I got my first WA offroading experience (hence the interest)...

From what little I've hear the City of Waneroo controls the beaches themselves, but the land that is used in the dunes for offroading is actually already owned by development companies and access has been continuing only until they are ready to start developing or at least get serious about the planning.

I agree that it's probably unlikely to re-open

Perth seems to have an obsession with coastal properties, wont be long before its a 4 hour drive from the north end of the city to the south!

You guys have to expect this when you vote greenies into the federal upper house. Looks like the Tassie greenies will move west now they are not welcome in Tassie.
