They have been on my eBay watch list for the past 12 months just in case the injectors needed replacing.

That's worse then mine but mine has that bloody surge when cold with AC on.
Leak back test is in my schedule.

Mine started doing the surge this week and is taking a little longer to start from cold. I might have an air leak to find yet. I did have the fuel system open on the weekend to put a can of LiquiMolly through. Need to re-check the rubber hoses.

I set myself up this morning to monitor the fuel pressure while starting. Guess what? It started perfectly - in about one second of cranking. The only difference this morning was a pause with the ignition switch on while I set up to monitor.
I'm guessing that my perceived starting issue is actually just me not waiting for the glow plugs to heat up, since the mornings are now in the low twenties.
I'm booking it in for the professional diagnosis as mentioned above in a bit over a week.
