Default Firewall Access

Hi All,

I've tried searching for this but didn't find anything that solved my issue.
How have people gone through the firewall into the cabin? I've seen the layout for the USA spec vehicles and assume it's the same for ours but I can't see easy access grommets in my Summit. (The one on the passenger side is chock full of cables and air lines).

Someone mentioned a grommet above the steering column near the wiper motor?

Could I trouble someone for a photo for how they've done it? I'm trying to run a fuse tap to the fuse box so would prefer to keep it on the drivers side.

It’s hard on the drivers side. Very possible on the passenger but you need to know exactly where to look. There is a grommet, I ran my coax cable for uhf through. Plenty of space to run whatever wire you need and hide it through and behind the console to the drivers side of you want that. I’ll try get a picture during the day. Don’t worry it can be done.

Nice timing, I am also about to put a UHF in my Trailhawk and need a way through that firewall. Out of interest where did you place your radio in the cabin?

I also ran my UHF coax through the grommet on the passenger side..... a bit fiddly but got there.
I mounted my UHF under the dash up high above the transmission tunnel on the driver's side and have a remote speaker/mic mounted to the right of the steering column just under the "woodgrain" strip.

You can run through the Grommet here on the passenger side, I have a 2015 GC so not sure if all models are the same.
Grommet run right behind the glovebox super easy to do, I popped the grommet out first to make a small hole then ran the uhf cable through it and pushed it back in.

Thanks for the pic. I’m being lazy as I cannot access my vehicle till the weekend to have a look myself, but what is the orientation of that photo? Top.. bottom?

Appreciate your efforts,
