I have an MY17 Trailhawk and about to have an ARB deluxe bar fitted next week... in matt black colour. So it’s stock. I had a look at the Uneek and the ECB alloy but the ARB was for me. I wanted steel and the Uneek was a tad heavier I think so went with the ARB after seeing it in the flesh. Also ordered a Chief Products front protection plate to replace that silly plastic bit, which ARB “might” fit for free when the install the bullbar. They stuffed my original booking so had to reschedule.

I’m pretty sure they are the only three bars that fit the new MY17 onwards Trailhawk with air suspension, parking sensors and mostly the radar cruise control that I don’t have. Not sure if the last item fits the ARB bar anyway but the other two are fine. A few people had the original Uneek and ARB bars retro fitted to this new model but had sensor issues I think.....

Also waiting to go on the bar is a Stedi ST3303 21.5 inch light bar (spot/spread) and an GME AE4018BK1 6.6dBi UHF Antenna in black to go with the GME TX3120S Super Compact UHF, which I have yet to find a position for inside.

Wishlist item... highly dependant on price...

I've got the MY18 Trailhawk ... and have already fitted the following chief products:

* Sump Protection Plate;
* Transmission Protection Plate; and
* Lower Front Guard (with the ACC Guard for the Adaptive Cruise)

Am pretty keen on the Chief gear, as the fit and finish is awesome. I've had a look at the Uneek (not so keen on the design), ECB (mate's got one on his Prado ... but not keen on the polished finish) and the ARB (for me, makes the front end look heavy). Am keen to see the ARB on yours @Hoppy99 ... but I'm looking more for a design like the Rhino Bar, so am holding off to see what Chief do for their front and rear bars (been pestering for a 3D render of them ... but no luck yet ).

Am turning into a little Chief fanboy, but the gear (in my view) really suits the WK2 ... so, hoping the Roof Rack (as well as the bar work) doesn't end up too expensive, as I'll have to reconsider the other brands ... but I will at least replace the standard recovery hooks with the Chief ones soon, as the stock ones just don't look strong enough ...

On the UHF front ... have gone (for the time being) for a handheld until I sort out where to mount the aerial (ideally on the Chief Roof Rack, or front bar). Am looking at the GME XRS 330/370, but was gonna pair with the RFI Wireless MBC mount CD34 and/or CD63 ... just depends where my final mount point ends up being.

So ... still a work in progress for me too.

I only recently went with the TJM T3 Explorer bar. Its the bumper, centre loop model. ARB dodnt do one like this for the jeep..apparantly and I liked the finish better than the Ironman option. Uneek was to dear for me. It comes with two recovery points also. It has sagged the front suspension by approx 15mm so thats next to be looked at. Front sensors still work well. I know people say they dont protect your head lights, but hey nothings going to stop something of decent size in my opinion

I'm pretty sure these dont fit the new model, especially with air suspension. Might be wrong because I havent checked TJM for a while. I know they were looking at releasing one in the future though.

I've had a uneek commander bar fitted to my overland MY18. The ACC has worked fine, the parking sensors have been a bit temperamental which uneek are apparently currently working on a fix for.

I had the uneek rock rails and a front bash plate fitted too.

At the same time I had the BB fitted I got them to install a GME XRS 370 behind the dash. The cable for the hand piece comes out under the climate controls in the middle where the little storage compartment is.
