Well after months of deliberation I've signed for a new CRD GC Limited with ORAP. Might have even got lucky with a matching vehicle already in transit meaning a March delivery.

Now I just need to find someone worthy of caring for my beloved WH!

I know how you feel. You look after a vehicle over the years, best parts, good service history and then some tosser gets hold of it and stuffs it in 12 months. I have been known to vet buyers, it takes longer to sell but I feel better.

March delivery! How naïve was I. The in transit vehicle apparently evaporated (which I found out by accident, no-one bothered to call me) and come May the delivery is still TBA. Had to go in to the dealer to find that out as they outright refused to take my calls.

Dealers, what can you do. Unfortunately we're victims of the WK2's popularity I think, they can sell as many as they get so why should they care.

Anyway, cancelled the order and rang around the other dealers to find out what CRDs were sitting in the lot right now in a colour I could tolerate. Very very limited choice let me say. Anyway, after wasting 3 months waiting with no signs of progress, I'm picking up a nice Summit on Tuesday.

A bit more than I was planning to spend but hey, YOLO as the kids are saying these days, and the smile's back on my face.

This was something that the dealer I bought my car from was complaining about. They can put a hold on a car in production or in transit but get gazumped at any time. He was particularly complaining about cars on the export assembly line that they had holds on, going to other markets.

The other problem now is the change over to the MY15 model means there is an added delay. They also had that axle defect issue that stopped production and meant bringing cars in from the storage yards to have it rectified.
