I think i read on here that the axle length is longer for verilok, an also WSM says crown wheel bolts must not be reused .....not sure how fairdinkum this is.But may be you have complete units not just centres??

i have a sets of complete varilok axles with 3.55 gear, those will go in my jeep.
i have a sets of complete varilok axles with 3.73 gear, i may sell it or keep it for parts.
and i have a sets of complete open diffs axles with 3.55 gear, i will sell those one i think.

You need open diff axles if you ever plan to install a rear ARB

How easy/hard is it to put the 3:55 gears into the 3:73 varilock? Do they fit the carrier?

i know i need a open diff if i want a locker. i'll see how the varilok work and then i'll see if i sell the open diffs.
it doesn't look too hard but you need some tools and a lot of patience i think. i was thinking to do that but i found those 3.55 varilok diffs so no need for me to do that.
it would be better to take it to a diffs shop to do the swap.
and i'm pretty sure the gear are the same for open diff and varilok
