Maybe they should manage their time better, "leave earlier and arrive on time and alive". I see this with fellow workers who arrive just on time. I arrive earlier and less stressed and much more happier, I use this idea on my trips as well!

Probably because the beancounters running the show can't see any profit showing on their excel spreadsheet by employing more cops unless they can make enough money in fines to cover their wages.

And the cops have to fine people too, a friendly warning doesn't stick when there's a major crash 10 minutes later and the relatives have their lawyers out looking for someone to blame.

You're right but holidays/vacations are unfortunately full of time constraints, ultimately it's the ease of which a tourist can get off a plane and hire a 4X4 then head off without any prior off road experience and thus I totally agree with the prior suggestion of some type of compulsory tutelage component before hiring a 4X4, after all this type of problem isn't endemic to Fraser Island as clearly outlined in this excerpt from a Ray Mears series on Outback Australia.

We need to ensure people have the appropriate knowledge, skills and prepared vehicles before allowing them to get behind the wheel of a 4WD.

Default wtf.

Isnt this just typical.
This country is fu&ked.
When did we wake up and suddenly become ruled by wankers and ******** wowsers?
I really think its about time an Australian political party be formed PURELY to lobby the Government to give Australians there country back. What good are all these damn National parks anyway if were not allowed or cant afford to access them? If its not locked gates, or big fines, its stupid fees for Bush camping. With a family of five, i am looking at close to forty bucks a night to sleep in the dirt in a national park.
Enough already.
ANYONE stating that they will open up tracks and parks to the people again is going to get my vote. So how about we start petitions demanding greater access to offroad areas and national parks?

Fishing and Rec / Shooting / Australian Sex party.

There are already heaps of parties (in the Upper house) that want the same things you do. They don't have enough support to put members in the lower house... mainly because people all say 'I hate voting for the wankers and ******** wowsers' but then don't show support for anyone else.
