Why do so many people think this is the new grand? The grand was updated only a little while back. It's the "Cherokee" replacement and a poor one at that.

i honestly dont think the grand needs to be a capable off road vehicle.. thats the wranglers purpose..
Maybe they need to bring out another XJ- style wagon, on a wrangler chassis and suspension to satisfy the wagon body 4x4 market.
if i had big money to drop on jeeps, id have a wrangler modded highly for offroad, and a comphy grand for the beach and light awd duties, holidays, mild touring.

i would be happy to see these grands, and there is always the exception. Which is why these guys probably love their grands so much, as they are different to a wrangler..

I saw a Grand from murchison products at the last jambo which looked like it could more than handle its own.. beast
if jeep & land rover keep going soft i'd love to see a completely new manufacturer rise up with their only mission being to build affordable, capable, practical, mil spec style off road vehicles and nothing else. Imagine a wrangler/hummer/defender/g-wagen/oka mixed up hybrid.... Yeah i'm an optimist, but ya never know?
