It appears that the "aesthetic" direction Jeep's new owners are taking it is towards appealing to a greater spread of the mainstream populace, in the name of "better" market economics. Curves, aerodynamics, comfort, fuel-saving technologies seems to be the mainstream now. And the traditional Jeep "thing" ain't leaders in any of these categories.
I personally do not like it. It looks like Fiat was trying too hard to force an otherwise fiat-looking piece of metal to look like a jeep, with TACKED-on front grille (seriously?) and somewhat squared-off wheel arches. Poor.
