I have had a look throughb this web site, am I right in saying if you want to put recovery points on a JK the options are:

a: buy new front and rear bars
or
b: cut the stock bumper

If you have a factory front bumper you have 1 tow hook which is not very strong I would recommend you upgrade your front bumper with after market like ARB or AEV etc regarding the rear bumper you have to cut the middle number plate plastic section and buy a mopar tow package kit and install a tow hook

I have the Mopar tow package, I thought you could not use this as a recovery point. I'm sure I read that you could damage the pin holding the recovery hook in...
If that's not correct where would I be able to buy a recovery hook ?

From just about any 4x4 accessories shop, or from Oz Adventure 4x4: http://www.ozadventure4x4.com.au/node/45

go on ebay, buy a used stock us bar with the tow hooks (cost about 100 or less) and then ship it here. Prob not the best option because its oversized and requires freight, but thought id put my 2 cents worth in

Or you just buy a new front bar..........

I know that's what Simsy uses. For the majority of recoveries it would be fine I guess.
