Had my Airflow snorkel fitted today by loocal 4x4 offroad racing shop..Says nicely designed and breaths beautifully with smooth plumbing routing..I'm impressed

PS: At first glance...slight increase in fuel consumption around town but improved on the highway (air ram effect at speed)...noticeable induction noise when the foot is planted but otherwise not an issue.

Maybe maybe not..Lets see after a more definitive longer run...Like I said at first glance...Plenty of toe so no power loss which makes me happy..

My longer term test (approx 600km) unloaded admittedly highway Km was more than around town

Around town 0.4L/100Km better
Highway 1.8L/100km better
Average was about 1L/100km better
Power a subjective same possibly a plus

Of course all this depends on how I used my right foot so figures shoiuld be viewed as me being very conscious of what was on the EVIC in which case would be skewed a bit but is certainly indicative of the snorkels effectiveness..Power gain can only be accurately measureed on a dyno with controlled airflow into the snorkel head so my assessment is purely subjective.

Verdict: I'm happy & hopefully someone can provide their test figures to compare...either confirm or dispute

PS average fuel consumption was close to 10% better ..Also you can buy this snorkel much cheaper than advertised on the Airflow web site

Snorkels.com.au

sales@snorkels.com.au

Free postage and a lot cheaper than on Airflow's site

One thing though I should mention..Be prepared for the induction noise when you tramp the foot.

edit: Also add I have a UNeek Bullbar & Warn winch, 2"lift with Mopar Rock Rails & 75L LRA aux tank with taller tyres so with the added weight my average fuel consumption was hovering around 11.3L/100km town & country and now averages around 10.2L/100km so in all with the snorkel about 1L/100km better roughly 9% gain (correction on recalculation)...Haven't tried towing my hybrid offroader yet at 2200kg loaded

Well 3000km later and average fuel usage is 0.5L/100km better. This covers Town & City, Country Dirt & Major Highway...I haven't driven to the EVIC in order to economise so this should represent my usual driving habits and indicative of Before & After...Ton of gutz though so definitely no loss of torque or power
