Only heard it was illegal, checked the SA Gov website and it's only a "should" down here. Suggest you snoop around the VIC gov website to see what they say.

I have read somewhere you can buy plug adapters that fit on the back of one of your headlights which have a feed for light bars or spotlights - might be one of these:

Means it's just plug & play ....

It would have to be a match to the Jeep wiring, which, I assume, will be unique. If the headlights were just an H4 globe it would be easy...

I'm going to have to tap in to the high beam wire, and, from memory, it is a real bugger to get to as well. I seem to remember it is white with an orange trace, but hopefully someone can tell me for sure.

Cheers

Green and white. What Hibeams? It it is just a shutter trigger. Tap it from the LHS side, removing the airbox for access.

Now I am confused... But that is no challenge!

I need a Hi Beam wire - something with 12 Volts when the steering wheel stalk switch is in the Hi Beam position - to tap then run through the switch, to turn on the light bar relay. That way it is legal - Turns on and off with Hi Beam and separately switchable.

Cheers

Exactly what I had mentioned.

If you have HID, you do not have a HiBeams filament or seperate bulb. It is just a shutter window to create a high/low shutter of the beam reflection. You have been fooled

The white/green wire is what you need to tap into. Ground is ground. The ground feed only feeds the light on your actual "isolator" switch, doesnt actually affect the function of it.

Yes, this will be triggered by your steering hibeam stalk.

I used #14 screws to mount a light bracket to bumper where number plate is and worked OK but did vibrate a little. Biggest problem was it had to be trimmed back to be as small as possible to not get picked up by the parking sensors.
