Default Latest newsletter-ausjeepoffroad.com

I have been a member of Ausjeepoffroad.com for some time, but confess that I don't slavishly visit the site.
It was a pleasure to receive a Newsletter titled "Newsletter TEST - AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM - AJOR". However, after reading the article, I was dismayed to think that this was disseminated to members by (what was purported to be), a professional organisation.

Surely, if an organisation wishes to convey their professionalism, and uphold their position as a serious site, they would take a small amount of time to check spelling and grammar. If they haven't got the ability (or time), to personally check the article before it is released to the public - then get a competent person to proof read the article.

Let's look at some obvious spelling mistakes that should never have been released:
rumors - spelled correctly should be "rumours"
forsale is two words - for sale.
dispite is spelled despite
common sence - is spelled common sense

Much more space could be used to highlight the grammatical anomalies...but I will not do so.

Many people may dismiss common spelling mistakes but, it should be remembered that, as Australians, we should be proud of our heritage and spell our language as we have always done. Not follow along on the road to phonetic language spoken by America. In short, Americans who purport to speak English are laughable...they do not. Furthermore, they cannot spell correctly.

Organisations and businesses are judged by the image they convey, and it's not a great effort to ensure that the image they convey is one of the highest possible standards.

Personally, I am more interested in what a person has to say than how they say it. Live and let live. It will be a sad day if a person doesn't comment here if he feels someone will judge his grammar.
I use spell-check!

There is a difference between a forum post with a few typos and a newsletter representing a brand/organisation.

Writing marketing communications for a living, I have to agree with the original poster; I cringe when I read poorly proofed material. I didn't read the newsletter in question.

Best you don't read 4WD Action. Many, many spelling errors every edition.

Since when is a web forum an organisation?

I think you are being overly picky of something that was labelled as a test, which i am sure will only get better with time due to the hard work being put in by the site owner.

And if this forum is anything like others i am on, the only "organisation" behind it is one hardworking site owner doing his best in his spare time.

I for one appreciate the newsletter, even with a few typos, so please keep up the good work.

If others think they can do better, volunteer your time and do it

Lol, edited to fix a typo i spotted....

I'm going to take this with a grain of salt. As it started it was a TEST, I was working with a developer late many nights to try and resolve sending issues, it had not been finalized when the TEST was sent out. Not a justification, purely a point.

For something added, when I read people who work in relevant fields posting on here that they do so in fact, it makes me wonder why they won't step forward and offer some assistance, hell you could even work on the weekly body for the newsletter.

It's not like Ausjeep is by any stretch an organization so valued assistance is always welcomed.
