Question Help! WH Grand Cherokee blinking fault light.

Hi, hopefully someone on here can help. I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee 3ltr diesel. We have replaced the Turbo and resonator intercooler (problem diagnosed by Jeep scan) and the engine light & red flashing light went off for about 2 months. The red flashing light came back on and a scan said replace glow plug module. It and the glow plugs were replaced. All good for 1 week and the red flashing light was back. Swirl pool/port? Motor replaced. Scan showed all faults gone and cleared. Now it travels about 1klm does a little splutter, the red light comes on and it blows a bit of black smoke (nothing like when the turbo died). Turn it off and let it sit for 5 minutes start up and it will run all day stopping and staring without a problem. No flashing light, no smoke. Any ideas before it goes back to the mechanic would be greatly appreciated.

Start by de-carbonising your inlet manifold

Thanks Renovator, I'll let my mechanic know anything posted on here. I do know that when he did the intercooler it blew carbon all over his workshop when he started it.
