Default CJ2A: Barn Find

Have always been on the look out for a 2A being the first civilian jeep which paved the way for all the cj models to follow...

But i just never saw any.I had been goen to various jambos since 1990 and never came across one i had seen a fair few 3A,s and the odd modded 2A which was good cause i knew they must of got imported to oz.

I think that we never got many 2A,s here because there was so many surplus MB/GPW left over after the war and not to many new jeeps would of been sold

Anyway i found this one not very far from home i dont know why i drag this old junk home the popularity for these old jeeps is certainly diminishing they defintly arnt an investment

So for now it has gone from one old barn to another but next will give it a clean out lube up the motor order what parts it needs from walcks,2A page, ebay would love to get it back to its original colour which was luzon red with universal beige wheels 2A,s only came in a few colours for each year....thanks for reading Mick

Motor

I just cant believe how intact this old jeep is right down to the rats nest n all ..but usually they have bits cut and taken off them but its all there its got all its serial number plates and its acm body plate even the serial plate on the front frame horn is still there ....and the amazing thing is that the 2 jeeps have sequential serial numbers ...they have come off the assembly line one after the other came all the way to australia and nearly 70yrs later they are still together...they are 1947 models...mick
