Default Front Sensors 2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo

I've had this Jeep around 18 months and the front sensors have never worked. That's fine by me as I have got eyes to see what's in front. The rear ones are fine. However the front ones have just suddenly come to life. Nothing was done to cause this. But the things are so damn sensitive they go off even passing utility poles in the street. And I need to stop a car length back at traffic lights. And sometimes they go off for no reason and just won't stop. Is there someway to disable them that anyone knows..? There doesn't seem to be any options in the menu for this. Many Thanks, Geoff.

I have a 2013 and there is a disable button on the lower dash panel
Which only works if the sensors are working correctly.

Thanks again Dazza.. I've followed a suggestion on another Jeep site.. three layers of insulation tape over the sensors. This seems to have shut up the corner ones And the front ones now only sound off right up at the last point where the beep is continuous. I guess time will tell if the fix is permanent. Cheers.. Geoff.
