I just got a reply back from the company who makes the airbag simulators and told them what I was doing. They said I didn't need to worry using the simulators as this vehicle the airbag system will not stop the engine from running? Maybe I can still take out all the wiring and moduals yet?
Best thing to do is when it comes time to build the Willys up while still in primer, for testing purposes and final welding of brackets etc, I should make sure it runs at all. Then start pulling fuses, unplugging sensors and then the modual making sure it still runs with every step.

I guess there is no one on here with knowledge on lowering these? Been trying to find out if the upper wishbone will hit the underside of the inner guard under full compression when shorter bumpstops are used? Been told there are some used on the SRT lowering systems but cant find any details about it.
Need to know fairly soon as it will determine what height to setup up the whole front suspension. If I get it wrong, the wishbone will leave nice upward dimples in my front guards!
Maybe someone can make a pillar of bluetac or plasticine and put it on top of the upper ball joint and then just drop off a curb and see if it squashes or by how much?

Pulling the fuses made no difference with engine running. in the electrical diagnostics there is an can bus error u0151-lost communication with occupant restraint controller.
i guess in hindsight when you had the grand running you could have started pulling fuses and then modules to see how bare you can go.
having a code show up isnt a real problem its the display on the dash that will recieve the code and display the airbag light, that light could be made inopperable but i wasnt sure of the chime being activated while driving, for example seatbelt off will chime and then chime a set interval constantly as you drive, wouldnt want that with the airbag system missing then again killing the chime would work too

Hindsight can be a killer.
Do wish I had thought of it then.
Before I start pulling the driveline this week though I might put the front wheels back on and lift and drop the front onto the ground using the engine crane to see how much clearance I need above the wishbone. Like to go just an inch lower if I can.

Had to know just how much clearance I needed between the top of the Grand's wishbone and the underside of the guard. Cant just measure it as you dont know how much the bumpstop is going to compress. So I thought the best way was to drop it 1.5 foot off a engine crane and see have much it compressed some Blutac I built up on top of the wishbone.
Did it a number of times and filmed the last one.

Sorry I didn't see this prior mate.

I've had mine lowered before (now back to stock height plus a bit) and used a combo of Kings lowered SRT springs and Fulcrum shorter 9approx half length) bump stops. It compressed enough over really large dips/bumps to cause spring binding, but never touched anywhere.
