Default Oil leak and warranty

Hi

I noticed oil leaking under the clutch housing bell and got the dealer to look into this as my Jeep is under warranty.

They replaced the rear main seal and said it was all good. I had a look yesterday and noticed they did a terrible job: they didn't put some skid plate bolts back, half of the bolts linking the engine and gearbox were not tight (I could remove them without tools), and the clutch is now making a squeaking noise when the pedal gets actioned.

Worse, the engine is still leaking.

What can it be and should I take it to another dealer? I don't think I can trust this dealer again when I see that

Awesome !
Yet another tale of woe regarding dealers and workmanship.
I certainly wouldn't be going back there with your vehicle, I can think of something else though.
Definitely take it to another more professional dealer if you can find one.
I don't know where you are so I can't help.

Whilst I can understand your concerns, I think it may be unwise to go directly to another dealer.

As its an ongoing warranty issue, and work has been done ( improperly ) I think it would be safer for you to first contact the senior management of the dealer that did the work and see what they propose and what your options are.

Perhaps even contact FCA directly and see what they suggest you do.

Hopefully it will all get sorted.... but IMHO there's the potential for problems and issues if you just suddenly change dealers.

I would take a video of the issues you have outlined above, and then go back to the dealer that did the work, asking to speak to senior management. Show them the video, and ask them if they think that is acceptable, and what they plan to do to rectify the situation. Give them the opportunity to make the situation right.

If you take it to another dealer they will tell you to take it to the original one. I dont think FCA will pay a dealer to rectify another dealer's stuff up. The original dealer will have to rectify at his own expense.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Went back, the service manager was very apologetic and said they would fix everything.

My wife comes to the dealership to pick it up, they tell her the noise from the clutch is normal and they didn't remove the clutch anyway (how do they do a main seal then), they added some sealant to the main seal to stop the leak (??), and were clueless about the missing bolts.

I'll contact FCA then.
