"they tell her the noise from the clutch is normal".... sort of true in that quite a few have this problem

"and they didn't remove the clutch anyway".... so they didn't replace the main seal

"they added some sealant to the main seal to stop the leak"... you have to be F joking... that's a second hand car yards idea of a fix

"and were clueless about the missing bolts"........ lets just stop at clueless

Melbourne inner city. So, after cleaning and the usual work commute, it is still dripping oil. I'll ask FCA for some recommendation on where to go next as I'd obviously like to avoid going back to this dealer.

So...

After escalating the issue to FCA and leaving my car for 1 full day for a diagnostic the dealer said the leak is coming from the upper sump. They need it for 3 days (!!) To fix the issue. Also they couldn't reproduce the clutch noise.

Questions
- Where is the upper sump on a Pentastar? On the gearbox I can imagine but this is engine oil
- 3 days? To replace a sump gasket?

I'm probably going to use my network to contact some Chrysler folks in the US and get back to FCA if their diagnostic is BS, and request a new engine altogether.

Sad as I love driving the jeep, but buying it was a poor decision

Hi all,

After 4 repair attempts by the dealer, two rear main seal changed and new upper + lower sump gasket, my Jeep is still leaking oil.

I am wondering what my options are, as at this stage I doublt the dealer can fix it. Asking for a new engine? Starting a legal battle to have a refund?

How old is the car? Might be worthwhile talking to consumer affairs and a lawyer. Or try another dealer?

Have they looked at the oil cooler/filter assembly? Its a known issue (on the 2014 at least as they changed it to plastic) that it can crack and leak, and the oil runs down the back of the motor.

Have a look yourself, pull off the engine cover and have a look down past the oil filter assembly onto the valley. If there is oil there the leak is at the front and just running down the back.

I would hope it isnt this, you would like to think that they would have checked this already, but its worth checking
