Default Rover Park to be closed?

Tenterfield Shire Council this month found Rover Park, on the Bruxner Highway, had been operating 4WD tracks, trail bike tracks, a flying fox, waterslide and two-hole golf course, but was only approved as a camping site. Council will issue Rover Park operators Hans and Heidi Hautle with a notice of intention to close, allowing just 14 days for the owners to convince them otherwise.

Thats a joke that place puts more effort into making it a good place to go than any other 4x4 park ive been too, if you have been to rover you should email the council and complain. bloody government not happy just to close tracks they want to close everything.

While it's easy to bag the council it seems the opperators should possibly get their house in order first, bring the park up to spec & apply for the appropiate planning & building permits which clearly have been forgotton as they developed the property.

Mate this kind of talk scares me....Its obvious you have never been to Rover Park. I have been to this park when Hiedi and Hans first bought this beautiful land and it was a 4WD park when they bought it......Just like Tookeron and Mt Mee the councils are out to shut down the small business opperators. This is very sad to see this happen to a great venue and great people.

Governing bodies around Oz often find themselves in a no win position when individuals & business's take short cuts with regulations. In this case if council knowingly lets Rover Park opperate when clearly there are breachs, it would be leaving the rate payers open to huge liability should there be an accident & someone sued.
Don't get me wrong, the Park looks great & definately should stay but the oppeartor needs to catch up on his paper work if for no other reason than to cover his own backside.
If on the other hand there are green elements on the Council that are targeting this type of business then it's up to users of the property & the voters to change there mind. Either way as I said he needs to get his house in order 1st.
