They advertise on the likes of Gumtree.com and find back packers that are wanting to travel from A to B, and they pay for fuel and you get your car moved. Obviously you would need to ensure your insurance would cover Mr Uten and Ms Tutten from Slobberland to drive your jeep.
When I needed to bring my camper trailer back to Brisbane from Mt Isa I used http://www.melcrest.com.au/ - because I saw their transporter parked in the street and chatted up the driver. Cost me $830, RACQ offered the same service for $1300 (they were bringing the Jeep back for free under UltraCare)
