Default 24hr MTB race

Well just finished my first 24hr Mtb race. I was in a 4 man team (which I didn't realise was where the serious teams race). We all rode exactly 100kms each over the 24 hrs, putting us in 10th place and 27th overall. Worst part of the race was sprinting 2 laps at 3am in the morning only to come into the transition and not have a team mate as he had over sleep, so out I went for another 10kms.

Here a couple of pics showing the awesome fun the track was, by the second day it had bigger braking bumps and ruts than most Downhill tracks.

I like this shot, you can see the sweat on my nose.

Excellent, did 50kms on both bikes. The Duelly has some cable problems in the middle gears, I am trying to reroute it now and see if it makes it better. I did all my night laps on the single speed and it killed my shoulders, by the last two laps I could hardly hang onto the bars on the stupid thing.

it's funny how you always seem to ask yourself after one or two late night laps "what the heck am i doing??" but then by the morning we always want to do more!

oh yeah, I have to say my favourite two laps were my last one at about 12pm Sunday, the track was chewed to bits and 6 inch front and rear really started to have fun, and my other fav was the 6am lap, just as the sun was coming up, I was first rider out without lights, it was just soooo much fun that lap.
