Default 2011 JK - Wrangler CRD

Hi guys, not my first post BUT.... i am now officially a JK JEEP owner. Finally
took delivery of my beast tonight. Couple of pics attached of the first day off the boat & will slowly start to add to a build up page. Most parts have been delayed so its far from finished unfortunately. In saying that though, when is a jeep ever "finished"....

Details: New MY2011 JK wrangler unlimited CRD.

Drives like a dream, 23km when i picked it up... Considered sleeping
in it tonight after the 3month wait :s but a tad cold out !!!!

Looking forward to showing it off...

Stay tuned....

Guys, being new to Jeeps... Had a bit of a drive last night & wondering Is it normal for them to feel they oversteer? I'm used to steering semi returning to centre when coming out of a round about etc, but this bugger certainly doesnt!! Needs its hand held to straighten up??????

Congrats on the new Jeep.

Being a manual CRD, be careful for driving on the clutch. It will wear out fast. Power slides on wet corners are a lot of fun, but you will pay for it in rear brake pads as the ESP tries to keep you on the road. Same for not switching off the ESP when driving on sand.

I stand corrected but you can change the way it self-centres by getting some adjustable LCA's or UCA's and dial in a higher castor angle. 6 deg is the upper limit for the older JK's.

An after-market suspension does wonders for the ride quality.

Enjoy the Jeep!

Cheers

Thanks for the heads up. I have read a bit about it. Still if i had my choice again id still go manual. Much more fun! Will sus out the ESP. Very new to me...
Lift & suspension upgrade goes on next week so at least it being delayed has given me a chance to see how the new JK rides on stock suspension. Very soft comfy ride but very wishy washy too.

Definitely read up on the ESP disabling stuff, on the beach it will slow you down something shocking! It does turn off (semi off) in 4lo, but not in high. When you do turn it off it comes back on if you switch off the ignition or change into 2wd. I found out the hard way buy nearly getting stuck after stopping to look at the scenery. Went to take off and floored it and it just bogged down and went no where! realised before it dug itself in luckily...

This is a link to a doc I have put together for myself of the disable procedures for the 2010, shouldnt be much different for the 2011??
