could be sticking solenoids, has the transmission been serviced recently? i had the same issue on my 4.7, just needed some new oil and filters and came good, auto transmissions can be very picky when it comes to old or dirty oil.
Also if you do change the trans fluid be careful to use the right fluid. MB 722.6 can only use a certain fluid. Penrite have 2 types that are ok for them and 1 of them is full synthetic.
Park to Drive shift is called the garage shift and during that shift, the 3-4 solenoid is modulated to reduce roughness. Maybe it's something up with that causing a slow engagement of Drive and Reverse?
