Thats handy to know, I suppose it needs the actual dead battery in it to operate that way, battery makes a circuit even if dead ????

On the odd times mine says No Fob or Battery Low I pop out the battery and give it a wipe down and all is good....

Add Fob batteries to the April 1st battery changover regime if you follow that...

I know the actual key blade wont work.
If you get another key and have the actual key cut by a lockmith you can then add the new key with AlphaOBD, easy as. I did it with a spare key, however the key was a cheap one and didn't have the passive entry function, so basically useless.

Thinking more on it just check that the circuit board is the same number as the 2015, as their are different circuit boards...

Back to the fob, mine was playing up, I popped it open and discovered the contact plates under the buttons had all moved off their respective spots. A bit of silicon applied to the contact plates and repositioned back to their respective positions and they haven’t moved since. There is a thread on adding contact plates under the buttons that don’t have them as that function wasn’t paid for. I.e. on the 11-13 models you can add a plate under on one of the lower buttons that unlocks the flipper glass back window also remote engine start, but you need the module to be fitted to the car

Came across this listing for a 2 button key fob 68143501 AC (2014 export model, same as the one used in my Jan 15 build)) so thought I would pass on the info.

CR2032 needed.

Thanks Drover....left one x fob at home in a 'special' place and just cant seem to find it now....yeahhhhh.
The fob I took probs had someting 'compressed' against during the 'adventure' and now shows up on the evic as 'low key battery'....used your info to open it n spray the internals with contact cleaner....it may or may not work....buggered if I can find where I put that other fob in its 'special' place so robbers wouldnt find it easily and I could 'collect' it when I got home.....oldtimerz showing its 'rough' side I guess ???.....truely dont recall where I put it...or if I took it with me...have unpacked but havnt seen a spare fob amongst the plethora of shyte that we returned with
