I used our regional public holiday to sit inside my Jeep in the rain with the dash taken apart
.
I installed my Alpine Halo9 head unit and while I had the dash taken apart, replaced the 12v cigarette lighter with a Narva dual-USB socket. I had 12V power with a USB socket behind the dash that I used to power my VMS, which I reused to power a wireless charging pad duct taped to the bottom of the single din pocket below the head unit.
I also had to replace the video cable for the reverse camera because it came out from being tucked under the carpet and got pinched in the back seat's hinge.
I installed my new OBD2 HUD (the little screen above the instrument cluster), 2 Gopro handle bar mounts with selfie-stick phone holders and another mount with a Gopro sticky mount foot stuck to the UHF handset holder.
I finally installed my Rugged Ridge A-pillar switch pod for a switch to power a front camera and camping lights but those are projects for another day.
I also learnt how to take most of the dash apart after I dropped a bolt and washer down the dash the first time I put the Vector dash bar back on, which turned a 2 hour job into a 6 hour job
