Thanks for all your help guys. As mentioned above, York Motors in Sydney is the winner! I'm booked in this week & was quoted $195. It's a little more $ than I found the searched threads, but I reckon it's worth it. They may realise that they are one of only a few places that does it around here.

I called my local dealer on the Central Coast and he said "You can't just add an extra gear to your transmission with a computer reflash!". I then had to explain the reasoning & procedure to him! He still seemed like he thought I was crazy. I thought I could save the 120km drive into the city & back, but at least I'll get to drive home with my new gear! I'll be monitoring the avg fuel for any improvements.

Thanks again, I'll let you know how it goes.

Can't remember how much it cost me when I got it done. Think that you should be happy with the reflash. It certainly makes a difference at highway speeds.

I remember when I got it done only 4 or 5 months ago at york motors they only charged me $66, Nick was the one who did it, I know they now have a new manager there who has been there for a month it sounds like he likes to charge more.

Thanks MRGC, That's quite the difference. I have been dealing with Derek. I will try to talk them down.

They suck ************** oh I hate hereing these story's you call a bloody JEEP garage and some peanut who has no F idea about JEEPs picks up the phone..... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Barfoot you should not pay more then $100. It only cost them there time and @ $100/ hr they should have it done with in 30mins.... So there making a tidy sum . Most work shops charge $80-120/hr which is need these days. So the quote of $195 is him practicing i would talk him down heaps.

Thanks Hemijeepy. I appreciate your advice as I recall you mentioned you used to/still work for the 'Man' (Jeep Dealer).

I'm not keen on throwing away $100. Does anyone know any other Jeep dealers in Sydney/Newcastle that perform the tranny reflash? I may use it as a bargaining tool.

Use to mate.... It was a dark time of my life....... hehe na not really it was good, I don't think any of the dealers will, Do the ring around but when you call, ask to talk to the work shop foremen..... instead of some "service adviser who has no idea what your on about... Then if they say yea they can do it ask how long it will take!

Hope that helps
