Default Headlights flicking off and on

Hi guys,
Driving to work this morning my headlights and dash lights started going off and on rapidly. Then stayed on for about 15 mins. Then started doing it again. Then stayed on for another 15 mins before going nuts again just as I got to work.
Does anyone know why this would happen?
It's a 2006 WH.

Multi function switch?

Be warned there are several different switch's, some don't have rear fogs, or front fogs. Some with auto light & some without.

There is another similar thread that I can recall when the Commander forum stood on its own.

It was happening for a Commander owner in some remote place, back of QLD, or maybe the Pilbara ... can't recall exactly. It always happened along the same stretch of road.

There was speculation that it may have been several attempted abductions by aliens.
