Default Failure to proceed

Jeep died 500k into a 2000k trip, jeep overheated no warning lights, noted high EGT as it shutdown.
After 1.5 hrs would not start only very slowly turn over 1-2 turns. Hope it's not seized or blown a piston.
On a truck back to Perth.
fully serviced, 130000km running like a top prior too
Any ideas from the brains trust to what has happened?

I would start by getting someone to turn it over whilst measuring battery voltage.

Gus, bit of a guessing game really without having been there. If it overheated then possibly cooling related. Water pump done when timing belt done? Could be the water pump has failed which has thrown timing belt out.

I had my timing belt done by a mechanic and several weeks later the timing skipped which resulted in several broken rockers. Was not a fun time. Hope the main components are okay.

Shit timing on the start of your trip too.

It's a strange 1 it didn't make a noise, I have dropped rockers on motors and it makes a shed load of noise.
In hindsight, it acted as if it blew a turbo hose, except it stopped running however this shouldn't affect it turning over.
1 thing I did notice is that the thermo fan didn't cut in when the ignition turned on.
This could have caused the original issue, again I was traveling at hi way speed so normal airflow should have been present.
All a bit weird.
