Default Wheel/tyre body lift combinations ???

Ok I'll keep it short......just bought a 96 Wrangler.........want to know how big in tyre sizes using standard body height, 2" lift, 3" lift etc
For example could I fit 33"s and just lift the body 1 or 2" and if so who does a kit ???
Can anyone help or point me to an article already buried on the site somewhere ?

Welcome clayjay... well. to fit 33's i wouldn't reccomend anything less than a straight 3" or even 4" coil lift or a 3" lift - 2" coils and 1" body ... but if your doing it that way you may aswell go for a 2" body lift giving you a total of 4". If you only have a 2" lift then yes you will fit 33's under there, but your suspension wont have much flex with it hitting your guard. i would only recommend 31's or maybe 32's with a 2" lift. Hope that helps

Yer about 4" total is what you need. I personaly am not a big fan of body lifts BUT is depends on your budget.

Ben on the board runs stock suspension 2" coil spacers and 2" body lift and runs 33's. Goes 95% of that places I go with 15 times the amount of money spent on my TJ

Where are you located clayjay, as that would help in regards to people who supply. The best people to ring would be (in no prefered order ) USA 4x4 (vic) Poly 4x4 (vic) Suburban 4x4 (Syd) 4x4 USA (wa) Hammonds (qld) and of course myself JBITZ (vic).

Happy hunting.

Perhaps, but I look no where near as farkin' cool as Lady Lil!

But Lexx is right, if you're on a budget, a 2" spring spacer, 2" BB and you'll fit 33s nice and sweet. Hell I'm still running stock shocks (and have done for almost 3 years with the lift. The next step up is the expensive one, but I'm working on that...

Thanks guys. I especially like the word BUDGET !
Yep being a 96 model I don't really want to go throwing thousands of $$$$$$ at it but at the moment it's got 225's on the front and 215's on the back (?????) and looks pretty sad. I'll be swapping them around this weekend but really would like to put 33's on there ASAP.
Are these spring spacers and lift kits readily available and what is the rough cost ?
Also how is the ride and acceleration affected ?
I really like the way the car drives like a car and not like a tractor.
Would I be better off with 32's instead ?

Oh and Ben..................you've got great legs mate, no wonder you're on a budget.......I bet that operation cost a fortune !
