I have jk shocks on xj, front is as good as factory shocks, rear a bit firmer than factory, probably because of rear leaves instead of coils like tj & jk.they're also a bit longer than factory xj shocks.

Jk Shocks on a TJ
I run Jk shocks in my TJ and find them very comfortable ride, they are slightly longer about 1 inch in the front and 2 inch in the back from memory. Don't quote me on this though as it has been a couple of years since I fitted them.
I find the ride to be a vast improvement over the cheap TJ gear I was running previously, however I did change the springs over to the JK ones at the same time so it could be a combination of the springs and shocks as they are obviously valved for that specific spring rate. However for a very cheap upgrade, in my case free, I found the ride greatly improved. Worth a go in my opinion.

Just got a set with low K's and after reading this I might get the springs as well!

Or just shell out for some Fox adjustable shocks and be done with it. You then just give the weight of the vehicle and ride you are looking for to the guys you are purchasing them from and Fox will sort out the rest. Best decision I ever made and you can always revalve them or service them if things change.
A set of airbags (done correctly) in the rear and you can have the soft ride and still load up when you want to go camping and tow. Just remember the airbag shops don't know how to setup airbags for something you want flex in as they will fill the whole spring with the airbag.

I've tried to talk to several Mechanics about FOX and that all say "you want like them, too hard", so I don't know.

Who do you suggest?

Nice, a mate has adjustable Fox shocks fitted to his TJ and it is pretty smooth for a short arm rig.

Yep, always wanted to get a set of air bags for the rear

That's good to know, I'll hit you up for more on this when I get that far....
...getting second airs fitted to my new alloys with 33x10 KM's this week, engine idling problems (again), aircon needs work, rear upper control arms need replacing. it never ends does it? Anyway, I found a set of JK shocks with under 5000 k's on them for 150 bucks, I'm gonna see how they go for now, they seem to sell quickly on fleabay.
I would rather try the the Rubicon shocks cause I found out that they ARE one inch longer then the base model JK but try finding a dealer that will send to AU

After a closer look at the front JK shocks I doubt they will fit properly without a bar pin eliminator but...
...the rear just needed a bit of grinding to the inner eye and the fit seems perfect!
I'll fit up the front in the next week or so and get it off road soon, gently articulate it, checking clearance, droop and compression.
After comparing the aftermarket shocks (that came with my 3" lift) against the JK shocks they are virtually the same, give or take 5 mill each way - perhaps I'll lose a little droop - wife says that would be great

Your not kidding, just changing out the rears has made a huge difference, much more comfortable than any other TJ I've driven running 33", I love it!

The awesome people I bought the shocks from sent me the springs for free! (Jeep people are too kind, thanks Dee) So, did the JK springs fit up without any issues?
Anyone know how much lift you get (over TJ OME spring height) installing JK springs?

Pretty sure they won't fit as they will be too short and too wide, been some time since I looked at that so not 100% sure.
