Default Jeep J10 engine options

Hi all

I am hoping someone can help. I have been doing some googling but can't find anything definitive.

I want to know if the j10 / cj10 ever had a 360 v8 from the factory in Australia? I can see it was available in the US

Thanks

No.
The J10 (sometimes called CJ-10) was unique to Oz and never sold in US.
It came with a D60 rear and D44 front, and either a SD33 Nissan diesel (non turbo, but easy to fit a GQ partrol SD33 turbo) or a 258 L6 petrol.
Chassis is basically a FSJ cherokee with some body mount changes.
Trans were the 5 speed manual or 727 auto.

It is easy enough to fit a AMC V8 into one, will bolt straight to trans

There was a short wheelbase (really short) variant in the US sold to airports as aircraft tugs, with very low reduction gears, think it was still a 6 though.

manual says 3 engines 3.3 diesel, 4.2 petrol & also has listed 2.5 L 4 cyl no V8's mentioned , front cover of the manual says CJ10, US had cj10a fair bit of difference between the 2 think they were badged as J10 only in Australia.

Oh well
I was hoping it was a factory option then I could drop an 8 in without needing an engineers certificate

I know the CJ chassis is considered a weak point, does that apply to the j10 also?

Yes I've got one with a bent chassis but like mentioned earlier maybe an old cherokee chassis can be swapped in, not sure about this but would like to hear how & what needs to be done to do this
