Default Rear shock absorber low speed rattle chuckle noise

has anyone had this issue on their my14 gc and had it covered by jeep ?

Mine has developed this exact sign and john hughes have basically said a tsb means jackshit and they can't tell me if it will be covered . As it's not a recall it's not official

Hi timsarg, 67HR may have the answer to your problem if your GC was built before April '14, but he has to check the actual date.

That is rather harsh.

I have printed out TSB for other issues and Jeep dealer usually do their best to cover it.

They often crossreference TSB's for you should it match a symptom you describe.

Yeah I had the same knock in the rear suspension as you describe. Dec13 build - MY14 model. I had mine replaced at 25,000km (just before the warranty run out). I told the dealer the rear suspension had a knock in it and they replaced it without any issue. If it's out of warranty you would think jeep would do it under a "good will" repair seeing as though it's a known issue. The car has 44k on it now and haven't had the issue return. Touch wood!

i must admit i am a little pissed at john hughes . I've been servicing my work cars there for nearly 25 years and i was told $170 to diagnose and if jeep decide to cover it they will refund me . They want full service history and i responded with what does service history have to do with a possible faulty shock with a known issue . Does john hughes check suspension components at each service ?

That's cool when the cars come up for renewal i sure as shit wont be buying anymore cars from john hughes

spoke to another dealer today. As mine is a second owner if i am suffering from this problem i have zero chance of a goodwill repair as i am not the original owner and jeep have been knocking back alot of goodwill repairs lately . Guess i will just stick to my mechanic then and get it repaired and deal with it . Good thing is now it is out of warranty i can go nuts with tune and transmission upgrades . FU FCA

Sorry for the delay but here is that TSB I promised.
I'd try taking it in to them. It's not the shock that's the issue. It's they way it was mounted.

Sorry PDF's won't upload i've taken a screen shot.

Hope this helps.

I wouldn't take NO for an answer either.
