I dont know if I have " the correct tools", as far as I know I dont have a special " injector plug disassembly tool" .
Gonna be bit of a gamble to cut the connector and then find myself unable to get the plug apart or wire out...and have to drive it on 5 cylinders....

EDIT: Never mind. Remembered I had a spare injector plugs + rail somewhere in the garage. Cut an old plug off to have a go. Once a stubborn little plastic cap was sacrificed, a pocket screw driver into to female end of the plugs allows for the wires to be pushed out the back. There is always something that needs to be sacrificed.

The # injector plug on the donor has a similar damaged spot like mine....could be I found an obscure cause for stumble on idle

Actually, not sure if you could buy one separate plug anywhere? And the plug is fine, it's the wire.

Not really the td42 motors can handle decent boost but with everything it comes down to maintenance and how you treat it. The car was a 20 something year old gq diesel I wouldn't expect a jeep motor to hold together at that amount of boost either. Let's not lower ourselves to the other sides level patrols are good 4wds and are as strong as anything I've owned one before and I would again. I was at LCMP with about 20 patrols and 5 cruisers and those who doubted the little xj were no longer "jeep haters" by the end of the weekend which is one of the things I like about the xj it's different and a bit out of the ordinary, nothing like driving stuff on 31s that other trucks on 35s struggle on.

Time for a little photo journey, why? Because we all like pics.
Driving home after shift this morning, I heard something fly through the engine bay. Opened the hood and was greeted by this

So, looking for the rest of the wiring , I found it, nicely wrapped around the viscous fan mount...

Took some convincing, but got it out of there eventually

That kinda speeded decisions a bit up regarding my upgrade of the aux fan.
And even more so; time for my first rewiring repair, which now looks like this

Was pretty happy with this and had good hopes when firing up the XJ and selecting AC.....nothing, dead as anything....thought must have ripped the enitre wiring from where ever it was connected, and prepared for some trail-the-wires-to-the-source time consuming action, but after rechecking the connections and whether I had hooked it up correctly, remembered an old wise, eh.. well, something I remembered: dont forget the simple things (enlightening moment)....check the fuses ...and so, I found this

With the new one, things are running again as they should....now: on to the replacement fan, because I had that planned anyway. Oh, and the injector plug replacement....and a bunch of other jobs on the XJ.
