Default No longer KL TH owner

Our much loved 2014 KL Trailhawk got stolen by kids (BIG problem in FNQ right now...) - was recovered by police within 48hrs but written off by Insurance (cry).

With the payout we COULD have got an identical clone of our TH including same colour - from Brisbane - or a different coloured one with all the tech options we didn't have (like adaptive cruise and lane holding etc.) - again from Brisbane - but we found a low KM 2015 WK2 Limited here in Cairns instead so paid the extra to grab that... - so now we drive a GC.

Kids broke into the house by twisting the laundry door knob with vice grips - and found one of the dongles. We normally have dog in the house but that night he conned us into being in the bedroom with us (closed in with aircon so no hearing anything outside) - and we didn't properly mentally engage with the situation and lock the outer security screens (as we KNOW how weak the other locks are) - which left that laundry door vulnerable. Locking the screens means messing with keys - not just flipping the toggles - so of course not something we USED to be habitual about, especially with doggo in the house.

It's been an awful experience losing the TH we'd had from new and loved every second of driving even after nearly 8 years - but the Grand is VERY similar in most respects - especially basically familiar cabin and similar to drive (got to get a sprint booster into it ASAP tho!).

I'm not even particularly angry at the kids - they're just doing what the ^%$#ed up QLD justice system is allowing them to do. Apparently their target in Cairns is to steal 500 cars this year... The police KNOW who they are - our TH was recovered about a block from where some of the kids from one of these groups is known to live - evidently the cops keep an eye out for abandoned vehicles in that area (the kids park vehicles and if they're still there next night then they carry on joyriding) - then it becomes the forensics game to see whether they can make arrests - but the courts just let them go anyway so you gotta wonder why the poor cops even bother... Occasionally one of the little pricks kills someone (crashing the stolen vehicles), then there ends up being a little bit of prison time...

Eufy security cameras from Bunnings or Supercheap Auto.

Completely wireless- have not needed to charge mine for over 4 months.

Need an internet connection.

I set the alarm at night and when we go out during the day. Cameras sense a person and the alarm goes off and sends notification to our mobiles. No ongoing fees ect…

Best money I ever spent other than the Jeep.
