Default Dent in exhaust... normal??

Hey guys,

brand new MY'13 JKU Rubi... stuck my head under it the day it arrived home, and saw that the exhaust right behind the diff has a big dent in it.

Called Jeep, said "my exhaust has a dent in it", he knew exactly what I was talking about ("oh yea, right behind the diff") and said he thought it was 'normal'...

Can anyone with a 2012/2013 JK confirm?? Seems a bit weird to me...

My 2010 2 Door JK has a dent there too. I thought it was from the bar when flexing.

Found a bunch of posts all over the shop saying it is normal!

...but what a weird way to design an exhaust... so you have to dent it to clear components... I guess this was the last thing they designed... oops.

Yep, even my 2010 has the same dent.

Though looks like you must have ordered yours without the factory rust pack?

XJ 4.0's have a dent in a similar spot. You think by now they would have sorted it out.
