Is it this one Oil Sump Plug & Gasket/Washer/Seal Tridon Oil Drain Plug TDP034 as says fits the vehicle
Grade: Thread: 3/8 x 10
When I converted my Jan 15 build diesel from a sump plug to a drain valve the thread measured up as an M14 x 1.5mm (same thread as the sump plug on a 3.5 magna V6 with a 24mm hex head)

Cheers

That might be where I got the M14-1.5 info from when you did that swap, I just have a set of assorted Viton O rings from supercheap, about $20 for the box, better check that it has a 14mm in the kit ..............

Some rubber seals listed here - will need to measure to ensure correct size etc:

Oops, I've never replaced the O Ring on any sump plug...I did replace the sump plug on my Hemi as it was pretty second hand, and I also replaced the sump plug on my previous WK2 as some Gorilla had way over tightened the sump plug with what must have been a set of multigrips!

Interestingly, the sump plug from the Hemi, and the one from the diesel WK2 were identical...as you note drover, a 13mm socket job.

It has crossed my mind to replace the nylon washer or O Ring from time to time...but fortunately I have never had one leak yet either...

A sotft copper washer is a good alternate. They need to be annealed before used. Just heat it up with a butane torch. It is then soft & will deform to fit any irregularities. You need to re-heat it each time you re-use it. Same goes for the copper washer under the injectors.
