Hornsby shop is GDL....no 'message' on evic when a burn is in progress is normal....members with your model use SRT Gauges on their evic to see exhaust temps raise and a slight increase in fuel useage in all models is common.
From memory your model also has a reading available of the DPF % level ????
The fans were an issue mentioned by many members in previous posts and Im sure it was a dealer reset 'upgrade' that remedied the problem.
You are correct with the fact that software updates are performed by dealer workshops...if its a factory recall then the upgrade is FREE....DONT let them charge you.
