Default 4.7L rebuild time.

time to pull out the HO engine !!! has a knock in the rear of it ,
I would like to use flat top pistons as I have a set brand new , but what concerns me is this knock sensors , and the con rods , as the HO has full float
the pistons I have new are full float , BUT I am going to need to replace at least one rod in the engine (HO) as it has knocked and will be out of shape,
would be nice to know if I can find out the info and know can the pressed rod take the full float wrist pin ? now , having flat top pistons will mean a lower compression , will the ECM/PCM be able to adjust to the lower compression ratio ? being trying to find out as much as I can (you know google info line of BUY BUY BUY) but seems to fall flat by people asking the exact same thing with no answers. and will not know the size of the pin until I pull the engine out . (don't want to have engine sitting around while waiting for Mr post to finish coffee ) if I knew the standard size of the HO pin would help if anyone knows this ? I got to pull this engine on my own and the guy who took my mountain bike who said he would help , well... may as rely on the yappy little fluff fur ball dog. Monday start , be undoing injectors , coils , so on so on . THE FUN STARTS!

Bleet you may be better off asking that of the guys on Jeep Garage or Jeeps Unlimited. They would have no doubt done far more rebuilds on HO's and 4.7's in general than here.

Do they compare enough specs on wjjeeps to work it out. Google is your friend.

just trying to find a full floating rod on google is like being gaagled ! full floating its seems is a bigger diam than the pressed one . pressed ones at a rough measure are 23.7 mil the full float are 24.01 that's a fair wack to hone out and get bronzed , and for just one rod ! it seems that googled has hired the three stooges and the robots have been poked in the eyes by mo
EVERY PAGE FROM IT CAN NOT BE SEEN. have they all got the flu there ?
I want to fly over to the states go to the office there and smack the CEO over his melon with a rubber hose and tell him to stop watching porn and do his job.

thanks 55zed , I wish I could find my g micrometer , but I think the dam googles have snatched it ! I don't know any machine shops here , (none near by) and trusting Bendigo kind of makes me quiver
cant even find a place to chrome the big ends and mains little alone shot peening .
I take it that Victoria don't take racing/quarter mile or any form of performance seriously.

front and radiator , AC and ALT off today , pull off the intake and exhausts (and the rest of wiring loom) tomorrow , the sooner I get the HO engine out the sooner I can inspect and repair , see if the HO engine has press fit pins or full float . press fit around here can be a bit of a pain in the bleeting blurt
