Default Anybody used the Glass mount UHF antennas?

Feedback required

not too many places to mount an antenna to a KJ with no Bull Bar or Nudge Bar

Havn't used one but did research them, all the ones I could find are either unity gain or at most 3DB so your not going to get a lot of range out of them, but for convoy work and in hilly terrain they should work well.

Another option would be to get a ground independant antenna and put it on a bonnet mount, 6DB is a good all rounder.

Fouros,

I mounted a ground independant 6dB antenna on the spare wheel holder cover swing out thingo. Its only light so it doesnt matter if its on the plastic. The overall height is below roof line so it doesnt get taken out by trees. I made up a little L bracket to mount it.

I like it, & it works well.

Where are you going to mount the radio? mine gets wedged between the seat & console with a cloth wrapped round it so it doesnt scratch it up. Im thinking in the little shallow tray infront of the shift but not too sure how deep it is in there.

I've got one on our WG. Flawless performance hanging off our TX3400. Never a problem in convoy conditions - and even good on Stockton Beach - over dunes to people 10km away. I'd get another in a flash. Far less obtrusive than a bullbar-mounted aerial - and it doesn't advertise the fact that you've got a nice UHF to the thieves.

Sorry about the focus:
