Default UHF Installation

Am about to head off "around the block" shortly and am looking at installing a UHF in my WH - but where to put it? Just wonder if anyone has ever removed the plastic coin tray in front of the gear shift selector and if so what's under there and is there room.

Hi, if your radio has a remote head (something you can detach and is connected via a cable to the body of the radio) I recommend you put it under one of the rear seats and the head somewhere on the front.

You don't have much time underneath the coin tray. The coin tray is just a rubber shell. Underneath you will find two screws which are used to hold the center console assembly in place. There is not much space underneath that and you also have the some wires and the airbag assembly (!!!!).

Remote heads fit between console and whatever's just in front - Robbo has done it and it looks good. PM him for some pics.

Install the remote head on the tray in front of your console box and drill a large enough hole for the wires and fit the main unit under left front seat between rear heater outlet and sill panel.Mount hand piece where ever you want.

It looks great when fitted will take some pic's and post email to you if you wish.
